Diary Entry #4

The days have been going by so fast! It really sucks, today is the last day that Krystal and I get to spend in Aspen. We are both sad the trip ended so fast. I would come again in a heartbeat it was so fun. Today the 20th we went down to the hills and snowboarded for the last time, returned are rentals and quickly went to Piñons, a cozy Western ranch, with stucco walls, a leather bar and huge brass bowls. All the meats and fish are grilled over mesquite and cherry wood. It was very delicious. We walked down the road and went to the little shops again to see what else we could buy for ourselves, and friends. We went to the hotel and packed so we had more time to do things during the day. We met up with the friends we met at the club. We went on a hike walk with them and shared are fun time we had and shared in Aspen over the past few days. After the hike we went to Zocalito Bistro, for coffee and a little snack. We all went to the tennis court and played for a bit, and we also hit the art museum again. After that we went to the bar in the hotel and had a drink together we all had a laugh at the stories everyone told. It was such a great time; I’m going to miss everyone. After that we said goodbye went to the hotel and made sure we had everything packed. We went to bed early to make sure we were up early enough to get to the airport and have time to check up. On the 21st we were in such a rush we didn’t here the alarm go off so instead of having coffee or doing anything we had to leave straight to the airport. We left Aspen at 9:45am and got to Denver at 10:35am; we left Denver at 11:16am and hit Saskatoon at 2:35pm. I was so happy to be home to see my family and friends but sad that it’s over. Krystal and I had the best trip ever, and we will never forget it.

Diary Entry #3

Wow Aspen has been very interesting and fun so far are days have been jammed pack with things to do and everything we try really enjoyable. On the 17th Krystal and I decided to go play tennis again for awhile because we really enjoyed just hanging out. We went to The Big Wrap, features burrito like wraps but with a variety of exotic fillings, it was so good. Then we went to a Belly Up, I know such a weird name but it’s a club we decided to go to they had live musica and we met a few new people it was a really good day. In the 18th we met up with the friends from last night and went snowboarding with them it was quiet interesting, they were really good. After that we went to Hickory House, and had some baby-back ribs, those were so filling. That night we went to the pool and just hung out and got to know everyone better it was a really good night! Krystal and I didn’t get to bed till 2 we were having so much time we just lost track of time. On the 19th we woke up at 9:00am we went out to Bonnie’s for breakfast. We went back to the hotel and grabbed are gear and hit the hills again we stayed as long as we could. We got back to the hotel and went to the hot tub to relax for a while. Around 7:00pm we went to Cloud Nine, a European-style bistro, the food there was amazing and very filling I had to take the rest home. At 8:30 we went to a movie. That night we stayed up talking about what we should fit in tomorrow, since it is are last day at Aspen. We went to the spa again around 9:00pm and relaxed are muscles. When we got back to the hotel our inboxes were full of emails from family and friends asking how it was and what we were up to. We answered most of them back before we got tired. We turned on the TV and fell asleep as soon as we hit the pillows.

Diary Entry #2

On the 14th we went snowboarding from 11am – 3pm, it was quite chilly but very exciting. After that we went back to the hotel and picked what restaurant we wanted, Aspen has so many to choose from but we narrowed it down and went out for a late lunch at DishAspen, there meals were very tasty. At around 5 we went to the tennis court and we took a lesson for a half hour then we challenged each other. Aspen has movies playing almost all the time so we went to see what was playing; we went to the Isis theatre and watched Slumdog Millionaire at 7:30pm, the movie was 2 hours. We went out for a late supper that night at Takah Sushi, we’ve decided every time we go to eat out that we try something new. We sat around for a bit chatting and planning on what we should do tomorrow. When we got home we went to the hot tub for awhile, it was very relaxing. The next morning we got room service, it was delicious. At 9:00am our hike started in the Aspen & Snowmass Area, our group leader was really nice and we had an awesome time doing that. At around 12:00pm we went to the hill and snowboarded again it was a bit warmer then yesterday, it was fun and no one has gotten hurt yet. We went to the spa and relaxed and pampered ourselves, it was really nice. Once again we ordered room service instead of going out because we were so exhausted, but we have more days to try new things so we weren’t worried. On the 16th we went to Aspen’s art museum, it was really admirable and lovely. The art was very colorful and exotic; I would go back anytime the art was marvelous to look at. After we were done there we walked around and found hip boutiques, shopping areas and upmarket stores selling the very latest in winter fashion and accessories. Almost everything is very expensive, but it was worth it. I bought a toque, mitts, a few shirts, and souvenirs. Krystal bought snowboarding sock, a sweater, a really nice yellow toque, and also some souvenirs. That night we went to Syzygy, it has French, South-western, Asian and Italian foods there. After that we went back to the hotel and just emailed family and friends we went to be earlier that night to get good rest.

Diary Entry #1

On Monday the 12th we were getting ready for Aspen it was stressful, making sure I got everything and that I left on time. Krystal and I got to the Airport 15 minutes early enough time to check everything over and get prepared, we were both nervous but excited. We left at 3:28pm It took us 2hours 20minutes to get to Denver Airport, from Denver to Aspen it only took 50minutes, it wasn’t that bad. When we got to Aspen we unloaded got our rental car and went to are hotel, Limelight Lodge. The hotel was so nice, and it came with everything. We unpacked and settled in then got a bite to eat. That night we just relaxed and talked. On the 13th we got a very nice breakfast then went down to the rental shop and got everything we needed for snowboarding. It was very expensive but will be worth going down the mountain here. We went back to the room and decided to go swimming and hold of snowboarding for a bit, it’s a little nerve racking thinking about going down the big hill. SNOWMASS, ASPEN MOUNTAIN, ASPEN HIGHLANDS AND BUTTERMILK are all the hills we have to choose from. We are taking a lesson before we go so we are ready and warmed up before hitting the big hill. We are going to tour Aspen to see some exciting things. We heard that there was good shopping are amazing restaurants, so we are going to go out and try some new things. There is also a spa here so tonight we are going to the spa to relax. On some evenings they have events going on at some restaurants or at hang out spots so we are going to see what goes on there. They also have rock climbing and tennis so we might go try some of that while we are here. We are going on tours of historic landmarks such as the Wheeler Opera House or the Hotel Jerome, and also a selection of art galleries, theatres, and a concert hall are available that we might check out. There is also a hike that we can go on while we are here. Aspen has so many things to do I don’t know how much we are going to get to see.
